A Chinese agricultural company has agreed to establish a banana plantation in Cambodia, according to a senior government official.
In a posting on his Facebook page, Heng Samrin, president of the National Assembly, said he visited the 10,000-hectare banana plantation of Jinsui company in China’s Guangdong province last week and urged the company to invest in Cambodia’s agricultural sector.
“The company is interested and has promised to invest in a banana plantation in Cambodia in the future,” he said.
Samrin could not be reached for details yesterday.
