The Finance Ministry’s customs and excise revenue increased 17.4 per cent last year, compared to 2014, with the General Department of Customs and Excise reporting $1.58 billion in collections.
At a meeting to discuss the department’s progress in 2015, the GDCE director general Kun Nhim said last year’s collection was 121 per cent of the planned revenue, with the first two months of 2016 showing a 25 per cent increase so far.
In 2014, the department reported $1.34 billion in customs and levies on goods, up 34 per cent from 2013.
