Vendors located along two of Sihanoukville’s most prominent beaches – Otres and Ochheuteal – have until March 13 to relocate, city governor Y Sokleng said yesterday.

He said provincial authorities had sent a letter informing all the vendors that they must move, but without any mention of compensation.

The government is attempting to clear the beaches of buildings and other encroachments it says detracts from their natural beauty.
