OMNI NAVITAS Holdings, a solar energy development company based in Boston, Massachusetts, through its Cambodian subsidiary Omnicam, will be building the biggest solar power plant in Southeast Asia in Koh Kong province. The company said Friday that the new 150mWh power plant will output almost 275 million kWh of electric power every year – enough to serve more than 150,000 homes and businesses. It is also expected to save more than 200 million litres of water and reduce green house gas emissions by more than 100 tonnes. This project will provide significant economic contribution with more than $200 million in foreign direct investment and expected to employ more than 3,000 Cambodians during its construction phase and another 500 jobs to manage the plant’s operations.
