Abt Associates, a major American business and government research, technical assistance, and consulting company, manages the USAID-funded VectorLink Project. VectorLink will support the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) and USAID to plan and implement an integrated vector control approach with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria. Under this contract, Abt will expand entomological monitoring to guide programs focused on insecticide-treated mosquito nets and IRS to assist PMI in reducing the burden of malaria through IRS and capacity building.

 

Abt Associates seeks qualified candidates for the project’s operations in CAMBODIA. Brief descriptions and qualification requirements for Senior and Mid-level positions are listed below.

Entomologist Chief of Party (Senior Level) – Leads the development of national entomological monitoring plan in collaboration with National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) and National Center for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria (CNM), research institutes, Universities and private sectors involved in malaria vector control.Co-ordinate and supervise the implementation of entomological monitoring, surveillance and susceptibility activities. Implement capacity-building activities for local counterparts and field team technicians. Prepare semi-annual and annual entomological monitoring reports and insecticide resistance reports. Publish results of entomological monitoring in peer-reviewed journal. Prepare and present abtsracts in international vector control and scientific conferences. Qualification requirements:

 

Masters Degree (minimum), PhD (desirable) in Medical Entomology plus 10 years of experience. Must have relevant entomology experience working in the Greater Mekong Subregion.

 

Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and supervision. Strong management, leadership and planning skills of project tasks and budgets.Experience with USAID and donor projects is highly desirable.English language fluency (both oral and written).

 

Finance, Administration and Operations Officer (Mid-Level) Performs, records, and reports on all financial transactions of the project. Develops and tracks the project budget, manages payroll and vendor relations, and controls all financial transactions and reporting, both for the client and for Abt associates headquarters. Provides overall organizational and logistical management for entomological operations working closely with project director. Makes arrangements for project events and for staff travel and lodging. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) or a Master’s Degree in Business, Administration, Finance, or Accounting and 6+ years of financial and contracts management at large-scale development programs. Experience with USAID-funded projects, and thorough knowledge of US Government contract procedures, are highly desirable.
