Apparently stealing a cow does not afford a quick getaway, as one attempted cattle thief found out in Kampot town on Tuesday.

The 40-year-old and two accomplices attempted to steal a cow and a buffalo from a villager’s farm as he slept, police said.

However, the victim woke up. Two men bolted, while the remaining man beat the woken victim, injuring him.

Police arrested the suspect and sent him to court. The victim told police if the theft had been successful, it wouldn’t have been his first. DEUM AMPIL
