Committing one crime doesn’t excuse another. Angry villagers in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district beat an alleged thief unconscious on Saturday, leaving him sprawled on the street after he was spotted sneaking a resident’s motorbike out of his home at night.
Neighbours shouted in alarm when they saw the supposed misdeed and beat up the 31-year-old, only calling police afterwards. The man was sent to hospital prior to his detainment, with police telling the populace that assaulting suspects is also illegal. NOKORWAT
