A short pit stop ended up costing a Phnom Penh woman dearly when a thief made off with her purse just as she was buying petrol early on Tuesday.

Heading to the market in Tuol Kork district to buy food for her business, the woman’s ride ran out of fuel so she stopped to top up.

Seeing the open pocketbook, the suspect grabbed it and hit the road.

The unlucky entrepreneur headed to police headquarters and filed a complaint, claiming the bag contained $1,000.
