A man decided to face the wrath of police instead of confronting a more frightening presence: his wife.

The man, 27, reported that his car was stolen to police in Banteay Meanchey’s Poipet district on Wednesday.

After investigating, police found that he lied about the theft after he lost his money from a lottery and sold his car.

The man admitted to filing the false report, saying he was afraid that his wife would be angered by the car sale. DEUM AMPIL
