ACLEDA Securities Plc (ACS) has won the Cambodia Securities Exchange’s (CSX) Best Securities Broker Award for the first quarter, with its customers collectively accounting for 94 per cent of total securities trading value and 81 per cent of new trading accounts during that period.

The CSX revealed the winner of the award on April 18, judged based on three criteria: the total securities trading value of its investors, the number of new trading accounts and investor traffic on the exchange’s Mobile Trading System (MTS) platform app.

Data released by CSX show that the volume of trade orders placed by ACLEDA Securities investors through the MTS app totalled 34 billion riel ($8.3 million) in the first quarter of 2022, with the number of new MTS accounts registered by the firm accounting for roughly 85.37 per cent of all accounts created in that period.

The Best Securities Broker Award was initiated with the aim of acknowledging the “most outstanding” securities brokerage company of each quarter for their services in intermediating investor trade, said CSX.

Since the establishment of the award, ACLEDA Securities has won the most awards among the exchange’s 11 member securities brokers.

ACLEDA Securities president and CEO Prom Visoth said that the firm sought to achieve business results by increasing its investors’ transactions on CSX.

He noted that ACLEDA Securities investors were responsible for 94.11 per cent of total securities trading value, 81.28 per cent of new trading accounts and 85.37 per cent of Mobile Trading System (MTS) platform usage.

“These transactions on CSX contribute to the improvement of the market by attracting new investors, increasing investment by investors, improving market liquidity and trading activities on the CSX, as well as building public trust and awareness of CSX,” Visoth said.

Currently, ACLEDA Securities investors hold nearly 70 per cent of market trading accounts, with a majority of them being individual and retail investors.

CSX has a total market capitalisation of $2.43 billion. The total trading volume of the exchange increased by 386 per cent in 2021, with daily trading volume increasing by 382 per cent compared to 2020.

As of end-February, the CSX had nine listed stocks – seven on the Main Board and two on the secondary Growth Board.
