HE Hun Manet, deputy commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, on April 10 joined the Kingdom’s Muslim community for iftar – breaking of the fast – in the holy month of Ramadan. It was the first time Manet, who is also commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, attended an iftar organised by the Khmer Muslim Youth. Muslims in Cambodia joined their brethren across the globe in celebrating Ramadan – one of the holiest months in the Islamic calendar – by fasting from April 3. In line with Islamic tenets, Muslims abstain from food, drink and pleasurable activities from dawn to dusk. They end the month-long fasting by celebrating Eid ul-Fitr. PHOTOS BY YOUSOS APDOULRASHIM
