Japan has provided $483,204 under its “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects” – better known as the “Kusanone” grant – to fund five projects. These include installing equipment for the production of bioethanol from the water hyacinth in Kampong Chhnang, the construction of a maternity ward at Toul Health Centre in Mondulkiri province, the building of an in-patient department (IPD) ward at the Chhep Health Centre in Preah Vihear province, providing a mobile rehabilitation clinic for remote areas of Siem Reap province and installing medical equipment at the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Infirmary in Preah Sihanouk province.
