K (Cambodia) Co, Ltd held the official grand opening ceremony of its new high-standard Isuzu Vehicle Assembly Factory in Cambodia in Kampong Speu province on March 29, 2023.
The inauguration was presided over by HE Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary-General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, Chea Huy, Vice-President of K (Cambodia) Co, Ltd, and Koji Nakamura, Executive Officer of Sales Division at Isuzu Motors Ltd Japan.
K (Cambodia) – which has been operating for more than 14 years – is the sole importer of parts for assembly and distribution authorised in the Kingdom by Isuzu Motors Japan for its trucks.
With Isuzu’s famed durability and reliability, K (Cambodia) set up the Isuzu Vehicle Assembly Factory to meet increased demand, with Kampuchea Tela Company ordering some 200 vehicles, Chamathan Group around 100, as well as many other customers throughout the Kingdom.
The investment reflects the company’s commitment to its long-term vision of providing top-quality vehicles and excellent service to the Cambodian market in line with Isuzu’s Japanese standards.
HE Sok Chenda Sophea hailed the opening of the new plant for the positive impact it would have on the Kingdom.
“This investment project will provide new job opportunities for Cambodian people and contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth,” he said.
The major milestone of the first Isuzu 1.5-ton truck to be assembled at the plant was also celebrated, while tours were conducted of the factory’s advanced assembly line, which fully complies with Isuzu’s high standards.
