The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) in association with The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, announced the launch of a new initiative, certified through the signing of Memorandums of Understanding, that is designed to promote financial literacy in Cambodia through two targeted approaches.

Firstly, the NBC and the ministry of education agreed to institute the teaching of financial literacy in to the Cambodia general school curriculum. Secondly, the NBC and ministry of women agreed to collaborate to promote financial literacy among women, especially in rural areas, and to promote increased access to financial products to female entrepreneurs.
