The Royal One Opening Party, held on June 23, was attended by various high officials and nobles. Guests included Deputy Prime Minister Lok Chumteav; Men Sam An, vice president of the Royal Group; Chairman of OTK Royal One Lok Oknha Kith Thieng; and Chairman of Fong-Hwe Real Estate Tsao Jui-Pin, who were all invited to give a speech.

The Vice President of Royal Group said that Royal One, a name for the headquarters of Royal Group, a five-star hotel, a premium residence, the headquarters of international companies, business offices and and international shopping mall would become a representative landmark of Asean after its opening.

Royal Group decided to build a 230-metre-high, 62-storey twin-tower building at the intersection of Monivong and Russian boulevards, right next to the Office of the Council of Ministers and on the opposite site of Royal Railway Station.
