Sela Pepper Co., Ltd announced plans to set up a special research and development facility to help produce high quality pepper. Announcing its plan on Friday, the company said the industrial-scale Sela Pepper Science and Technology centre, located in Memot, Tbong Khmum province, will be involved in research and development of the commodity, which will be sold in the domestic as well as foreign market. Sela Pepper's General Manager Soeng Sopha said the facility will also help in promoting sustainable and climate-resilient farming techniques, and share the knowledge with local farmers involved in cultivating black pepper. Sela Pepper's processing facility has the capacity to produce 1.5 tonnes of pepper per hour, the first modern processing facility in the country.
