Yi Sang Chinese restaurants, managed by Almond Hospitality Group, are introducing jumbo glutinous rice dumpling – each weighing a whopping 11kg – to mark “Duanwu Jie”, or Dragon Boat Festival 2020, on June 25. During a media presentation last Wednesday, Master Chef Luu Meng, the CEO of Almond Group, said the laborious preparations take around six days, with each dumpling cooked for 20 hours before being ready to serve. The jumbo dumplings consist of a whole marinated chicken enveloped with glutinous rice, mushrooms, chestnuts, salted eggs and pork belly, all wrapped in lotus leaves. One giant dumpling can easily cater for around 25 people. Photos by Post Staff
