External Consultant to be co-author on Assessment Study on the Engagement and Participation of Youth in Local Planning and Budgeting Process

  The Advocacy and Policy Institute (API) is a Cambodian non-profit and non-government organisation. API is a leading advocacy capacity building institution, working on promoting access to information, decentralization and policy dialogue.   Currently, API implements two projects (1) “Strengthen Youth Participation in Local Planning and Budgeting at Commune” funded by UNICEF (2) Project title: “Citizens’ Voices and Actions for Sustainable Development in Cambodia, funded by DCA. These two projects are complementing and synergy each other to address the rights and needs of citizens, especially youth, women and disadvantaged groups, and secure democratic space to exercise their rights and empower them to hold government accountable for responsive, inclusive decisions and actions to improve public services and policy implementation at sub-national level.   The assessment study will be carried out with the following objectives: -To gain better understanding on the status of youth engagement and participation in local planning and budget process with focus on those from vulnerable and marginalized communities; -To examine strategies used by commune/Sangkat councils to engage with youth; -To explore how and in what way commune/Sangkat councils can better involve youth in local planning and budget process.   The consultant will play role as co-author in designing research tools, data collection and report analysis in collaboration with UNICEF and API technical team.   If you are interested in this assignment, please send your letter of interest and CV of qualifications in electronic form to [email protected]; or in hard copy to:   Advocacy and Policy Institute by 30 Nov 2019 at 5:00 PM!
