Water.org is a U.S. based non-governmental organization working to increase access to water supply and sanitation (WSS). Water.org has been in operation since 1990, implementing sustainable and scalable WSS programs in conjunction with local partners including Financial Institutions (FIs), NGOs, and WSS service providers. Water.org has pioneered its WaterCredit initiative over the last several years, which works by building the capacity of carefully selected local financial institutions (FIs) to offer affordable financing for WSS facilities. In Cambodia, Water.org is currently working with several FIs to provide small loans for WSS products and facilities. Water.org is to expand the interventions into piped water sector in order to accelerate impact and increase access to safe piped WSS in urban and peri-urban areas in Cambodia. Poor households at the Bottom of the economic Pyramid (BOP) will have an opportunity to connect to the water services by these water operators through different WSS financing avenues.

 

Water.org seeks a highly skilled and highly motivated Program Manager – Water Connect Program to lead and manage the WaterConnect Program in Cambodia.

 

The candidate should have at least seven years of relevant experience. The candidates should possess understanding of and familiarity with (i) utilities financial operations and facilitating new connections to low-income households via utility-led WSS financing and (ii) the landscape of water utilities in Cambodia, especially the challenges and constraints expanding WSS services in peri-urban and rural areas.
