Hun Manet – a future prime ministerial candidate for the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and the leader of the party’s youth wing – told its members that the key to serving the people is to build a solid foundation of solidarity and unity. He also reminded them that they should always make the national interest their first priority.

Manet was speaking at a February 18 meeting to review the work results of the youth wing in 2022 and its direction for 2023.

Manet, a member of the CPP Central Committee and chairman of the Central Youth Committee, said they have a duty to adhere to morality, virtue and dignity.

“In addition, we must strive to contribute to the achievements of the previous generation, as well as working to develop awareness of our roles and responsibilities as party members. The youth must serve the people, maintain peace and contribute to steering the Cambodian ship to progress, prosperity and happiness,” he added.

He praised the members of the ruling party’s youth organisations and their leaders.

“In 2022, they paid close attention to their work and remained dedicated to representing the best of the CPP and the Kingdom,” he said.

He called on each member to go to the polls and vote for the CCP at the upcoming elections.

“I trust and support the achievements and policies of the party. They are continuing to develop the country in a sustainable environment of peace, stability and national prestige. As a sovereign nation, Cambodia stands equal with all other countries on the international stage,” he said.
