HANOI (AP) - Government planners believe Vietnam's economy will grow by at least
8 percent a year over the next two years, a state-owned newspaper reported on July
23.
The Vietnam News said the government's state planning committee set economic growth
targets of 8 percent to 9 percent for both 1994 and 1995.
Vietnam's GNP rose by 7.3 percent last year, the newspaper reported.The state-owned
sector accounted for over 60 percent of the national income, it said.
