World Health Organisation (WHO) representative to Cambodia Li Ailan commended Cambodia for having vaccinated more than 1 million people against Covid-19 as of April 11.
“Congratulations to Cambodia for achieving such a great milestone in Covid-19 vaccines rollout!” she said in her tweet on April 11.
Li said healthcare workers and elderly groups were among those who had received the jabs.
She also commended the Ministry of Health, especially Or Vandine – the ministry's secretary of state and spokeswoman who is also head of the ad-hoc national commission on Covid-19 vaccination programme – for preparing and organising vaccination sites efficiently.
Vandine on April 11 reiterated her call for the public to get the jabs in sequence as designated by the authorities in order to prevent the Covid-19 situation getting more serious and to reduce hospitalisation and death.
