Cambodians in Malaysia warned of Covid Delta, Delta Plus

The Cambodian embassy in Malaysia called on citizens residing there, either students or migrant workers, to jointly follow health measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, especially the Delta coronavirus variant and its slightly mutated version Delta Plus.

The embassy said the new strains are spreading in Malaysia and have also been detected in Cambodia.

“Please do not move from place to place unnecessarily and avoid returning to Cambodia during this time as this could pose risks and bring along the Delta/Delta Plus to the motherland,” it said in a notice on July 9.

The embassy encouraged them to get vaccination provided by Malaysia and strictly follow health measures put in place by the local authorities.
