The Ministry of Health on March 20 reported another 54 cases of Covid-19, all but one of which were linked to the February 20 community outbreak.

Alarmed by the spread of Covid-19, which has recently also infected children and toddlers, ministry spokeswoman Or Vandine reiterated calls for the public to remain vigilant and constantly follow health measures.

«We are being plagued by this contagious Covid-19 virus, even a six-year-old is not spared. It's imperative for us to join hands in staving off transmission,» she said.

Vandine urged the public to refrain from non-essential travel, or practise the "three protections, three don't" guideline at all times otherwise.

«Residents of Phnom Penh and the provinces should hold off travelling, follow quarantine guideline ... work from home, postpone gatherings and continue peer education. Adhere to all these measures in solidarity so that we can go through this tough time together," she said.

As of March 20, Cambodia had recorded a total of 1,632 Covid-19 cases, with 692 remaining hospitalised and three confirmed deaths.
