The Kampong Cham Provincial Administration has placed four communes and 10 other villages in three districts under lockdown after 38 factory workers and a four-year-old child tested positive for Covid-19.

In an announcement on April 30, it said the 38 workers are employed at Six Plus and at 7NG factories in Kandal province's Mouk Kampoul and Khsach Kandal districts, respectively.

The child who has contracted the virus is the daughter of one of the workers.

The four communes under lockdown include Kang Ta Noeng, Sdao and Roka Ar in Kang Meas district, and Pram Yeam in Srey Santhor district.

The 10 villages are located in different communes in the same districts – two in Kang Meas district's Prek Koy commune; five in Batheay district's Tang Kang, Sambor and Chea Lea communes; and three in Srey Santhor district's Prek Por and Meanchey communes.

The provincial hall also published the names of the workers and called on all people who had direct and indirect contact with them to have their samples taken for Covid-19 testing and to continue implementing health measures.
