The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training organises a cycling event for International Youth Day on August 20 with the theme “cycling for decent work and inclusiveness for disabled youth.”
The event will take place in Phnom Penh on Saturday August 20 starting from the Koh Pich Theater.
The cycling event is divided into three distance categories – 1km, 20km and 35km.
In a notice, the Ministry of Labour said that all cyclists must respect the rules set by the ministry and arrive by 5:00am at the Koh Pich Theatre and depart together at 5:30am except for one-km cyclists who were told to gather at 7:30am in front of the Koh Pich fire department.
The notice said that everyone must cycle responsibly and in an orderly manner and they must not overtake or pass each other in unfavorable conditions. The cyclists were told to follow the direction signs placed by the team and follow the lead cycling guides while always keeping right and taking care for their own health and safety.
The notice said that in case of any health problems or road accidents while riding in the procession, they must immediately stop and contact an emergency team.
If the cyclists cannot continue to move forward for some reason they were told to immediately report the issue, with the coordinating team having vehicles to transport them to the final destination in case the procession is halted.
