The Ministry of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection will launch an online site called e-library for the public to air complaints linked to the abuse of power by government officials, or decisions seen as unjust.

The public can also report officials illegally taking over state land to the ministry.

Its minister, Men Sam An said on Monday during the ministry’s achievement wrap-up that in the current digital age, the e-library will assist to provide more efficient and speedy services as the public can also submit relevant documents to back up their complaints.

She said the ministry’s working team will publicise the online service to the people nationwide so that they will be aware of its existence.

“[We] have to put the e-library site online so that submitting complaints will become less of a hassle for the public,” Sam An said.

She said receiving online complaints through the e-library accompanied with the relevant documents will help her ministry to direct them to the relevant authorities, which ultimately will improve the speed of inspection, investigation, and law enforcement.

“All complaints sent to the relevant authority must be reviewed, followed up, investigated and the progress updated in a timely fashion for the complainant. This will reflect the responsibility for state institutions in serving the people,” Sam An told the meeting.

The ministry’s adviser and cabinet chief Hong Long said on Tuesday that ministry specialists were preparing the online site.

“The ministry normally receives complaints from the people who protest against something or accuse a third party of wrongdoing.

“After launching the e-library, people can submit their complaints without having to come to the ministry,” he said.
