Some 2,290 million riel ($560,000) has been provided to 21 provinces across the country to prepare for the quarantine period from May 3-9.

According to the Ministry of Health’s report, the additional budget provided by Prime Minister Hun Sen is between 10 million and 250 million riel.

"There are 39,899 people in quarantine centres in 24 provinces, of which Preah Sihanouk has the most people at 26,638," the report said.

They include 1,348 in Battambang; 1,085 in Banteay Meanchey; 189 in Oddar Meanchey; 349 in Pailin; 48 in Koh Kong; 1,592 in Pursat; 180 in Preah Vihear; 1,813 in Kandal; 83 in Svay Rieng; 363 in Prey Veng; 769 Tbong Khmum; 354 in Kratie; 110 in Ratanakkiri; 696 in Takeo; 849 in Kampong Cham; 877 in Kampong Chhnang; 87 in Kep; 808 in Kampong Speu; 1,133 in Kampong Thom; 55 in Stung Treng; 26,638 in Preah Sihanouk; and 473 in Siem Reap.

The only two provinces that do not have people in quarantine centres are Mondulkiri and Kampot.
