BEIJING (AP) - Chinese newspapers, which used to be funded entirely by the government,
are starting to make big money by selling their entire front pages to advertisers.
The China Daily business weekly said on June 6 that companies are paying 1.2 million
Yuan (U.S. $210,000) for full, front-page ads in the Shanghai newspapers Wen Hui
Bao and Liberation Daily (Jiefang Ribao).
