The Ministry of Health on April 17 reported another 291 Covid-19 cases, all but one of which were linked to the February 20 community outbreak.

The ministry also logged one new Covid-19 death though it did not provide further details, bringing the tally to 39.

The imported case is a 24-year-old Frenchwoman who arrived from Switzerland via Singapore on April 3.

The cluster cases include one Vietnamese and two Chinese nationals with the rest being Cambodian.

Phnom Penh recorded the most cases at 228, followed by Preah Sihanouk at 26, Kandal at 14, Takeo at 12, Svay Rieng at eight and two in Prey Veng.

The ministry also reported 23 recoveries linked to the February 20 outbreak.

As of April 17, Cambodia had recorded a total of 5,771 Covid-19 cases – 5,228 of which were linked to the February 20 outbreak – with 3,311 receiving ongoing treatment and 39 confirmed fatalities.
