The Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) will hold an event called "Meditation to remember the late King Father” on October 15 in the garden in front of the Royal Palace to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his passing and his heroism in life, according to the UYFC’s outreach team.

According to UYFC spokesman Tith Chandara, approximately 2,500 people are expected to participate in the event including UYFC members, monks and members of the public.

He said that as of the first day of registrations, only about 10 per cent of the expected number was registered.

Chandara said everyone is welcome to participate in the event regardless of their age, noting that advanced registration would be helpful to the team organising it.

"The first reason we organised it is to improve people's mental health through meditation, but we are also paying tribute to the late King Father [Norodom Sihanouk]. So, we call for participants to register online as well as in person for convenience,” he said.

Chandara said those interested in registering can do it online at uyfcsamati.com or in person at their office in Phnom Penh.
