Wing Cash Xpress Agents go the extra mile to help local communities with personal donations.

Wing Cash Xpress agents nationwide made further benevolent gestures with donations to support vulnerable local communities striving to make ends meet during the Covid-19 outbreak.

From Stung Meanchey district in Phnom Penh to the northeast of Cambodia, agents are sharing food and daily essentials to those in need in their neighbourhoods.

“Solidarity is critical in overcoming difficulties arising from such crisis situations. We are very proud that many of our agents have again made such inspiring contributions. Their generous acts will hopefully lead their neighbours to step up and follow suit,” Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc CEO Manu Rajan said.

Thirty-year-old Tann Seak Leang, who hails from the capital’s Stung Meanchey district, donated 300 kilograms of rice, cans of fish and bottles of fish sauce from her kiosk to nearby residents, many who toil as construction workers or earn a living through scavenging.

“My contribution is not that much but it will help reduce the burden on their families. My mother and I have been living here for nearly 30 years and we want to help our neighbours,” she said.

Away from the capital in Ratanakkiri province, Mou Siv Tan, 38, the owner of the Thai Chhang Wing outlet shared Seak Leang’s altruism.

She distributed meal boxes – with one for the needy and the another for vaccination centres.

“It is in the spirit of sharing with our community during times of need. I am also asking my relatives to join this charitable cause,” she said.

Wing’s chief consumer business officer Chheangsreng Srun, who has been monitoring these selfless acts of charity by Wing agents as they share their stories online, advised them to follow all safety measures while helping others.

“We have seen many agents in Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Chhnang, Mondulkiri and other provinces making donations to support their nearby communities.

“We have asked them to adhere to health safety procedures including wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing and following all safety markings while they are donating,” he said.

Wing also joined the philanthropic endeavours by waiving money transfer fees for all Wing to Wing transactions using the Wing Money App and increasing the daily money transfer limits to $20,000.

The moves make it easier for all Cambodians to send money to their families while at the same time reducing travel during the pandemic.

WingMall is also providing free delivery services to struggling merchants and to those purchasing food, groceries and essential items via the Wing Money App.

The general public can also make instant digital payments through the app for essential services such as utility payments, phone top-ups, payments to merchants and delivery services.
