A 19-year-old from Banteay Meanchey discovered the legal limits of the old adage about possession being nine-tenths of the law, after getting caught out claiming a stolen moto on Monday.

After stealing a friend’s scooter, the man abandoned it when it ran out of fuel, before it was claimed by police.

He later presented himself at the local station and claimed it as its own, but his incriminating lack of documentation blew the lid on his crime, leading to his arrest.
