A kindly Kandal native’s trip to the capital resulted in a run-in with four sword-wielding scumbags late on Tuesday night.

In town to visit his sister in hospital, then man was snoozing on a street when we was woken by four men asking for a cigarette at 2am.

While searching for his smokes, one of the miscreants produced the sword and demanded his phone and wallet before escaping.

The victim filed a complaint with police, who apprehended three of the thugs at noon.
