A drug user’s claim that his meth was medicinal failed to impress a Kandal court yesterday.

Takhmao city police had arrested the suspect for possession and at his trial the man admitted he bought 13 bags of crystal meth from a dealer but claimed that he only needed it to treat his gastritis.

Unconvinced, the court handed down a two-year sentence. Hopefully the prison food will be easy on the suspect’s stomach.
