A Phnom Penh man couldn’t be stopped from reading his newsfeed, even by intrepid phone snatchers in Chamkarmon district yesterday.

Whipping out his iPhone 7 after receiving an alert about a breaking story, a man was set upon by two guys on a motorbike who tried – and failed – to pull the device from his hand.

Another alert rang out, this time for authorities, who were nearby and arrived to corner the duo.

One thief escaped but the other was apprehended and probably won’t be using his one phone call to ring up his buddy.
