A road accident may yet lead to a new delicacy in the Kingdom: beer-soaked rice. An Angkor beer truck shocked locals when it tipped and spilled a heady slosh of the frothy stuff over the rice fields in Bavet town.
Bystanders said the truck driver was driving at a moderate speed on March 11 when one of the tyres exploded, causing him to lose control and pour out “hundreds of Angkor beers”.
The truck was badly damaged, while the driver and other passengers crawled out of the vehicle unscathed, but in need of a drink.
