The Volkswagen Golf has shaped its own class for generations and the current Golf is setting a new milestone for the next generation.

The Golf impresses when it comes to the more formal aspects: the front catches the eye with its athletic radiator grille with the Volkswagen badge, which conceals a front sensor for various optional assistance systems.

In the Comfortline and Highline versions, the radiator grille is embellished with fine chrome strips. The slim headlights, which protrude high on the wing, and the bumpers, which are flattened towards the bottom, give the vehicle a particularly flat, dynamic look.

In combination with its generously proportioned wheelbase and short overhangs, its zesty silhouette with the characteristic C-pillar oozes a verve that is worthy of a Golf.

The Golf’s intelligent driver assistance systems ensure more driving comfort and help to deal with critical situations very well or even avoid them. Even if you only notice this technology on rare occasions, it is an element of assurance while driving.

With the “Park Assist” option, the Golf needs a mere 80cm to manoeuvre into available space. It can even detect that space independently as you drive past at a maximum speed of 40 km/h.

The system not only assists with reverse parallel parking but can also help you pull forward into both parallel and side-by-side spaces, for example in underground parking spaces where there’s little room.

You can override or deactivate steering assistance at any time by taking the wheel, taking the car out of gear or pushing the “Park Assist” button.

Equipped with modern engine technology, the Golf is the perfect choice if you like driving and drive a lot, but still want to keep your consumption down.

Cylinder Management will shut down two of the four cylinders to reduce fuel consumption, without affecting engine smoothness. Since this process occurs virtually imperceptibly, you can see that 2-cylinder mode is active on the multifunction display.

For seating that’s both sporty and comfortable, choose the optional ergoActive sports seat with 14-way adjustment. The driver’s seat features heating and electrical adjustment, while its firm basic construction is attuned to your spine.

In addition to the height of the seat, you can also adjust its depth and the angle of the backrest to suit your individual preferences. Use the memory function to save your settings – a highly practical feature if your friends or family ever drive your Golf.

And last but not least, electric lumbar support with massage function offer you relief and relaxation.

The ergoActive driver’s seat helps to prevent back problems and increase driving comfort.

On December 8, 2011, it was awarded the independent “Tested & Recommended” quality seal for healthy back products by the German charity Aktion Gesunder Rücken (Action for Healthy Backs).
