The Australian International School Phnom Penh (AISPP) has partnered with IDP Education Cambodia in a move expected to strengthen Cambodia’s international education pipeline and support the country’s long-term human capital development.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on Tuesday by Mr. Men Sopheak, Member of the Board of Directors of AISPP, and Mr. Mao Sreng, Country Director of IDP Education and the Australian Centre for Education (ACE), aims to provide students with clearer and more structured pathways to global higher education.
The agreement comes amid rising demand among Cambodian students for overseas study opportunities, particularly in key destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.
Under the partnership, AISPP students will gain access to IDP’s international student placement services, including counselling, university admissions support and visa application guidance.
IDP connects students to over 1,000 quality schools and universities worldwide and co-owns IELTS, the world’s leading English language test for study abroad and migration.

Mr. Men Sopheak said the collaboration reinforces AISPP’s role in preparing students for global competitiveness.
“AISPP’s IB curriculum fosters critical thinking and a global perspective. Combined with IDP’s international network, our students and parents are exceptionally well-prepared for future academic success,” he said.

Mr. Mao Sreng noted that the partnership would help students and families make more informed education decisions in an increasingly complex global landscape.
“This MoU empowers AISPP students and parents to fully leverage IDP’s expertise, from study abroad counseling and university placement to visa application support, enabling them to confidently pursue world-class education opportunities abroad,” he said.

Industry observers say partnerships between international schools and global education service providers are becoming increasingly important as Cambodia seeks to build a more skilled and globally connected workforce.
With its International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, AISPP has positioned itself as a key contributor to Cambodia’s international education ecosystem, while IDP’s global footprint continues to play a central role in facilitating student mobility across major study destinations.

The collaboration is expected to not only benefit individual students but also contribute to broader national priorities, including workforce development, knowledge transfer and international engagement.
