Minister of Post and Telecommunications Chea Vandeth has expressed strong support for the training in digital technology and innovative business, saying such training will enhance Cambodia’s digital economic growth.
Vandeth made the remarks while presiding over the closing ceremony of the Digital Transformation Clinic Project, held at the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT) in Phnom Penh on August 18. A total of 102 trainees from the capital and seven provinces completed the course, designed to boost the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the digital world.
This project received funding from the Capacity Building, Research and Development Fund (CBRD). It was initiated by the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC) with CADT support, according to the ministry.
Vandeth praised the trainees for completing the course successfully. He acknowledged their newly-acquired expertise, noting that they had gained the necessary skills and knowledge to utilise digital technology in their businesses.
“The collaboration between the public and private sectors is crucial … The YEAC has been instrumental in bringing together top-tier business professionals who are committed to driving socio-economic growth,” he said.
Vandeth expressed optimism about the project’s outcomes. He anticipates that MSMEs will leverage these new skills to add value to their businesses, thereby allowing their products and services to thrive both regionally and on the global stage.
He said the ministry will persist in backing such training initiatives and is also committed to setting up technological systems tailored to the specific requirements of businesses in the country.
