The ministries of tourism and education have agreed to set up a joint committee to work on the development of materials for vocational training of “ASEAN Tourism Professionals” to be integrated into the high-school curriculum, a government official said yesterday.

Try Chhiv, deputy director-general of tourism at the Ministry of Tourism, said the agreement was made last week with the aim of developing Cambodian human resources in the tourism sector to meet the growing demand for a skilled workforce.

The timeframe for the materials to be included in the curriculum has yet to be determined, he said.
