LOLC Cambodia is setting a new standard in Cambodia’s banking and finance sector by placing responsible lending practices at the forefront of its operations.
As the sector continues to play a critical role in driving economic growth and alleviating poverty, LOLC is committed to ensuring that customer protection remains a top priority.
With a clear focus on customer growth, financial well-being, and transparent communication, LOLC is enhancing its service quality. The institution is aligning its practices with the highest industry standards, reinforcing ethical conduct across all levels of its workforce.
As a result, LOLC has registered 2,684 field staff to join the “Responsible Lending Certification Program”, a mandatory course from National Bank of Cambodia.
The course content features a strong focus on the history, role and ethics of banking in Cambodia.
It explores the evolution of banking in the Kingdom, its social purposes and the importance of building trust in financial institutions. Additionally, it analyses contemporary financial misconduct and evaluates legal and regulatory frameworks for responsible lending.
Participants also learn about the need for regulation in the banking system, the roles of regulators, consumer protection laws and the impact of regulations on bankers. Finally, it examines the application of ethical principles and ESG principles in individual decisions, business practices and responsible lending, including ethical loan origination, monitoring and nonperforming loan recovery.
The programme offers several benefits to attendees, including improved decision-making, enhanced professional development and the opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable future through responsible lending practices. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills they need to make informed and ethical lending decisions, advancing their careers and positively impacting society.
To ensure accessibility and flexibility, the programme is self-paced and available online. Participants can complete the course at their own pace, with support from a range of learning resources and assessments.
Upon successful completion of the course and a passing exam mark, participants will receive a Responsible Lending Certificate, acknowledging their proficiency in responsible lending.
