The general secretariat of the National Committee for the Promotion of the One Village One Product (OVOP) Movement, Phal Socheat, has bestowed OVOP certification upon nine local business owners in Ratanakkiri.

The secretariat continues to urge other entrepreneurs to participate in the forum.

Last week, Socheat, in collaboration with Ratanakkiri provincial authorities, conducted a dissemination workshop about the 2023 OVOP forum and the recognition of OVOP in the province, as reported by the provincial information department.

During the workshop, provincial deputy governor Chea Thavrith, highlighted that the secretariat’s working group has partnered with various administrative tiers to investigate the locations of handicrafts, raw materials, processing products, and services. This involved surveys, interviews, and assessment meetings.

At the same time, Socheat emphasised the importance of mobilising members to realise the national policy’s goals in OVOP growth. This approach facilitates the gathering of producers, data compilation, issue identification, and the effective planning and execution of intervention activities.

«We encourage stakeholders to guide and educate individuals and producers, enhancing their comprehension of the significance and advantages of participating in this initiative,» he stated.
