Prime Minister Hun Sen has acknowledged and appreciated JTI Cambodia for the company’s tax payment to aiding the growth and development of the national economy.

The government has ranked JTI Cambodia at 22nd among all taxpayers in the country.

In a letter to JTI, the prime minister said: “The contribution of your company is a meaningful participation from the private sector which is an important development partner to the government and is a key pillar for the development and growth of the national economy.”

The company has also always cooperated with the government and law enforcement agencies, especially the Ministry of Economy and Finance, by sharing knowledge, best practices and information on better operating environments, tax policy and illicit trade.

JTI is the first company in Cambodia certified as a Global Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute in Holland.

It also became one of the first companies in the world to be awarded EY’s Global Equality Standard (GES) certificate, which measures equal opportunities and pay in the workplace.

Moreover, parents at JTI, regardless of gender, receive five months of fully paid leave to take care of their family when they welcome a newborn child.
