ONiON Mobility Co Ltd last Tuesday inaugurated a $20 million electric motorcycle and three-wheeler assembly plant at the Suvannaphum Special Economic Zone in Kandal province.
As well as providing employment opportunities, the plant boasts a production target of 3,000 units as planned for 2022-2023. Ministry of Environment scretary of state HE Tea Chup, Korean and Singaporean investors, local and international business partners, celebrities, journalists and partners – such as CTR, SV Investment, TADA, Shinhan Bank, Smart, Prince Bank, Fairplus Supermarket, Circle K, Total Energies and PTT Cambodia – attended the event.
ONiON Mobility also signed a memorandum of understanding with CTR on the “Development Project for Micro Electric Cargo Truck With Reuse Battery Packs” to promote electric vehicles.
ONiON Mobility founder and CEO Kay Woo said: “We are preparing the full EV service from bikes to three-wheelers with onion mega stations. We are now getting into the utility version of the four-wheeler. Our mission is clear – which is changing Cambodia into an EV nation.” PHOTO SUPPLIED
