7th Startups Technology Sharing Conference and 6th Networking Day held at the National Incubation Center of Cambodia on April 26, 2024.
The events are part of the project for the establishment of an incubation system between schools and industry in Cambodia hosted by NICC under support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and MoEYS.
This conference is an event where the 20 startups from both countries share their technologies, and promote services and products, and networking events are aimed at promoting relationships with stakeholders in the startup ecosystem. During the events, around 400 regular participants participated in the lecture and booth exhibition and networked with each other.
During the event, the honorable guest speakers from both countries, especially Mr. Chang Woo Suk, CEO of ToWs and Silicon Vally PnP Advisor shared their experiences by Speaking at a conference on AI innovators and startups called "We Awake!".
He also added that there are big investments in AI startups with companies like OpenAI, Anthropic and Figure leading the way.
Meanwhile, there was a Global Business meeting between Korean and Cambodian Startups. During the meeting, Korean and Cambodian startups had the opportunity to engage in discussions, exchange ideas, and explore potential areas for collaboration. As a result, 8 documents of the Memorandum Of Understanding for Business Collaboration (MOU) were signed after the meeting.
On the same day, the next program, the 6th Networking Day, was held for the stakeholders of the startup ecosystem in Cambodia and Korean startups to enhance the opportunities to get cooperation between both countries
Ms. Choi Moonjung, Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office, said that digital technology has the potential to help solve work problems more effectively and improve the quality of life.
During 6th Networking Day event Ms. Che Jungwon, Deputy Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office, said that in the past, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has also supported public-private partnerships, and Korea International Cooperation Agency KOICA will continue to support the sector in providing technical and resource resources more Startup.
H.E. Professor Chet Chealy, Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh, stated that today's event is a good atmosphere in line with the development of new AI technologies, and the Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh is working with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to Develop AI-related programs to motivate young people and students through digital education for growth and change the economic landscape of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
