It has been more than 10 days since the historic event, yet the excitement of the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola touching down in Cambodia continues to stir in the memory.
The Original FIFA Trophy being brought to football enthusiasts in the Kingdom was a truly unique experience for Cambodian sports fans.
Leonardo Garcial, from the Brazil, "the country of football", and general manager of Coca-Cola Vietnam and Cambodia, has publicly expressed his ardent passion for football.
In an one-on-one interview with the press, Garcial spoke of the care being taken as the most valuable prize in world football makes its way across the globe.
“The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will be visiting 51 football nations throughout 2022 to give football fans a once in a lifetime chance to see the FIFA World Cup Trophy for themselves, so plane travel is required to deliver the experience" Garcial said.
“The Original FIFA World Cup Trophy travels via the most efficient modes of transportation, including bus, train and motor vehicles to the destinations it visits.”
“Coca-Cola is committed to demonstrating environmental leadership to ensure that we reduce plane-related CO2e emissions associated with the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola, and we have employed a dedicated sustainability consultant, who has reviewed aircraft types based on emissions and PAX-to-freight ratio.”
“The aircraft we have chosen for phase 1 of the tour is the Gulfstream G600, which leads the way in environmental efficiency. The Gulfstream’s engines are incredibly efficient and decrease fuel usage, produce fewer greenhouse gases, and reduce engine noise. Additionally, the carbon footprint of the tour is being calculated and offset to ensure that the tour is climate positive.
“The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola is truly applaudable. ”
