The Cambodia Association of Finance and Technology (CAFT), alongside a delegation led by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), recently returned from the prestigious “Inclusive Fintech Forum” held in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.
Attended by delegates from more than 60 countries – with Rwandan president Paul Kagame gracing the event – the conference highlighted Rwanda’s promising position as a rising force in fintech.
The Cambodian delegation made a remarkable impression, further establishing the Kingdom’s international reputation as an investment-friendly country and a pioneer in fintech solutions.
During the forum, NBC, CAFT and valued sponsors adeptly showcased Cambodia’s rapid adoption of digitisation and the development of robust digital infrastructure.
The significance of fintech, both regionally and globally, was strongly promoted, solidifying Cambodia’s standing as a transformative player in the fintech landscape.
The NBC’s Bakong system, recognised as the first payment service to leverage blockchain technology for national bank purposes, was heralded as a prime example of innovation and technological advancement.
The resounding message conveyed by the numerous representatives from Cambodian organisations present at the forum was crystal clear – the Kingdom’s fintech industry is experiencing a remarkable upward trajectory and is poised for continuous growth.
In spreading such a vital message, public relations assumes a crutcial role in ensuring widespread awareness and the informed engagement of the general population.
By effectively communicating the importance of public relations and engaging media outlets with accurate information, the public is kept well informed about significant developments occurring beyond Cambodia’s borders.
Lea Bogatin, Founder of LINX International, a Phnom Penh-based public relations agency, said: “Having the opportunity to communicate the importance of PR and engage media outlets with accurate information to inform the public about international developments while representing the Kingdom in global markets is truly gratifying.”
The initiative and support shown by Cambodia’s banks and sponsors at the “Inclusive Fintech Forum” underscore the pivotal role of public relations in advancing Cambodia’s fintech industry, she added.
Through strategic communication, targeted messaging and effective engagement, public relations efforts contribute to elevating the visibility, credibility and growth of Cambodia’s fintech ecosystem.
