Seven Cambodian students who received KNB – Developing Countries Partnership – scholarships from the Indonesian government for the 2021 academic year left for the Southeast Asian country on January 28. The seven students will study in the capital of East Java, Surabaya, with six joining the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology, while the other will pursue higher education at the State University of Surabaya. Two will major in electrical engineering, two in mechanical engineering and two in statistics (mathematics) and social studies. Social and Cultural Information Officer at the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh Abdul Hakim briefed the students on the eve of their departure. The students flew to Jakarta via Singapore. The Indonesia government established the scholarship to assist developing countries in enhancing their human resources, as well as to promote cultural understanding and bolster cooperation with growing economies.
