Five startups from the National Incubation Center of Cambodia (NICC) – TAP App, REAN ANN, Optimus, ADSA Cambodia and Zippy Express – participated in the "COME UP 2023" startup festival held in South Korean capital Seoul on November 8.
The event at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza provided a successful platform for these Cambodian startups to actively engage in with the "Cambodia Pitching" session and garner significant attention through booths showcasing their innovations.
COME UP – organised by the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the KOREA Startup Forum – serves as a pivotal platform fostering the exchange of ideas among Korean and international startups, with a specific focus on facilitating overseas expansion and attracting investment.
NICC also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hanyang University's Hanyang LINC Foundation on future collaborations in the development of Cambodia-Korea youth startup education programmes, and Cambodia-Korea mutual institution visits and exchanges.
As a result of COME UP, the NICC startups anticipate fruitful business matching and collaboration opportunities with Korean startups and startup ecosystem builders for future business expansion and development, with follow-up meetings in the pipeline to solidify and strengthen valuable connections.
Supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), NICC collaborated with the Korea Productivity Center (KPC).
NICC Center Director Dr Sovila Srun spoke of the firm intention to explore collaborative opportunities with key players in the Korean startup ecosystem, including companies, incubators, venture capitalists and investors.
He also reiterated his commitment to providing unwavering support for NICC Center startups in their journey to expand and thrive.
